These terms govern your use of the pagetime iOS app. By downloading or using pagetime, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What pagetime is

pagetime is a self-control tool. You choose apps to block, and you earn access time by photographing pages of the physical book you are reading. All restrictions are self-imposed by you, on your own device. pagetime is not a parental-control product and is not a medical or therapeutic service.

Subscriptions and billing

• pagetime requires a paid subscription. Prices are shown before purchase in your local currency.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
• Cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings (Settings, your name, Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms; we cannot issue them directly.

Fair use of verification

Page verification exists to keep the exchange honest. Attempting to defeat it (for example by photographing screens, re-submitting the same pages, or submitting images that are not the book you are reading) may cause verification to decline credit. We tune verification over time; it can make mistakes, and emergency passes exist so a mistake never traps you.

Your responsibilities

• You are responsible for what you choose to block and for use of your device. Do not rely on pagetime to restrict access in safety-critical situations.
• You must be at least 13 to use pagetime.
• Do not misuse the service, attempt to disrupt it, or reverse engineer it except where the law permits.

Privacy

Our privacy policy explains what data the app handles. In short: no account, page photos are processed transiently and never stored, and your app choices stay on your device.

Service changes

We may update, change, or discontinue features as the product evolves. We will not remove your active subscription's core exchange (reading earns time) during a period you have paid for.

Disclaimers and liability

pagetime is provided as is, without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Appthalmology Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the place you live.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the current version will always be at this address with an updated effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
